The Journalism and Photography programs have grown with technology. In 1978, when I arrived, The Ranger editors and advisers trekked to San Antonio Press Thursday nights, often until midnight, to produce the newspaper. Through the years, computers replaced IBM Selectric typewriters. Today, computers have made the process more in-house and provided students with opportunities to stretch their talents in photography, design and writing for the award-winning publications.
Future for media students?
Trained newspaper journalists will continue to provide news and entertainment in some form, and our students will be ready.The Future of Journalism
