The Journalism-Photography Department (now program) has grown with technology. In 1978, when I arrived, The Ranger editors and advisers trekked to San Antonio Press on Thursday nights, often until after midnight, to produce the weekly newspaper. Through the years, computers replaced IBM Selectric typewriters.
Today, computers have made the process more in-house and provided students with opportunities to stretch their talents in photography, design and writing for the award-winning magazine, The Fourth Write, as well as the newspaper and The Ranger Online.
